Divergence Meter

The Divergence Meter is an electronic device which calculates and displays local gravitational variation. There is a property of gravity that is different on every world line; the Divergence Meter measures that property and compares it to the value measured in the world line where the first meter was built, displaying the difference in %.[1]

Plot[]

During Chapter 04, on November 29, 2037, Liddie Kumar shows Pollon Takaoka the Divergence Meter M2037 and explains the function it performs. However, the Divergence Meter shows an abnormal reading displaying two sets of divergence values simultaneously active (1.048596 and 1.123581), which is something that shouldn't be. Liddie also mentions that it's necessary to have a special talent to notice a change and remember the previous value.

Display of the Divergence Meter M2037[]

This meter shows divergence value 27 numbers behind the decimal point (Nixie tube shows only 6) and presumably storages previously registered values. Here is a tab showing clearly everything displayed on it:[2]

Note: Numbers colored in gray are numbers which still weren't manually confirmed to be correct.

Chiyomaru about the Divergence Meter and Divergence Value in an interview[]

Chiyomaru: I can't share the particulars, though there's nothing saying that the world lines from Steins;Gate and the world layers from Anonymous;Code can't be synchronized. What I can share is that this game will contain the source of the value on the Divergence Meter (a gadget which displays seven digits signifying world line fluctuation).

Interviewer: What do you mean by...the source of the value?

Chiyomaru: For starters, D-Mails are only capable of containing six full-width characters in a given message. This isn't due solely to the limits of the PhoneWave (name subject to change), but furthermore because you will find that six digits can fit after the decimal on the Divergence Meter's display. When the fluctuation lies at around twenty digits down the line after the decimal, the world line will be convergent to the point of practically no noticeable divergence in the first place.

But... in those six spaces after the decimal, there is certainly room for momentous change. The values of the Divergence Meter in this game in fact were sent in the past through a mechanism akin to D-Mail.

The disparity between the Earth Simulator and events of present-day Earth is displayed in these six digits past the decimal. 2037 itself will be an era belonging to complete surveillance societies, given the existence of Earth Simulators capable of simulating each and every event that will ever occur on Earth. As long as such technology exists, the overseers from the upper layers beyond this world will freely be able to collate all resultant numerical data.[9]
