On February 6, 2036 at 15:28:15 UTC, a worldwide computer malfunction results in the deaths of over 5.1 million people.
Due to NTP Overflow, a large-scale computational error occurs in the guidance system of several military satellites (including the SA4D). This results in the satellites indiscriminately launching payloads at over 20 cities across Earth, including New York, Shanghai, London, Moscow, and Shinjuku.
The incident leaves many children orphaned, including Pollon Takaoka. Many youths displaced by the annihilation of Shinjuku move in droves to Nakano due to cheap rent and an abundance of hacking-related opportunities.
